Club Constitution

Mission Statement

 

FPHS Robotics Club provides the opportunity for students to learn mechanical, technical, computer programming, problem-solving, social, communication, teamwork, and other skills to benefit the team members in their futures.

 

Officers

 

The Club Sponsor will appoint the Club Officers: President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Terms will last one school year, after which the Club Sponsor will appoint new Officers.

 

  • The President(s) is/are the leader(s) of the club and its members. He/she/they report(report to the Club Sponsor.

  • The Secretary records club information, nurtures club relations, helps to prepare club orders, and performs all other duties required.

  • The Treasurer presents club donations, presents club financial reports at meetings, and performs all other duties required.

 

Together, the Officers shall finalize club orders and present them to the club sponsor.

 

Expectations

 

Any Forest Park High School student may apply for the club. Students taking Robotics and/or Engineering courses shall be given priority for membership. Maximum club numbers may vary from year to year. If necessary, to retain a controlled membership, the Club Sponsor may interview interested students to accept members. Membership roles and engagement may vary by individual experience.

 

  • Members are expected to work a shift during the club’s concession night at a boys home basketball game.

  • Members are expected to compete at/observe a club robotics competition.

  • Members are expected to work for the common good of the club and all affiliated entities.

  • Members are expected to remain formal, proper, and fair at all club competitions.

  • Members are expected to follow the FPHS and SEDCSC policies.

 

Competitions might not be local and may require travel. Members may be required to pay a fee to attend. The fee will typically cover travel, food, costs, etc. Extra space on club transport(s) will be filled by the Club Sponsor’s discretion.

 

Club meetings may be held during allotted advisory times at the discretion of the Club Sponsor. Some meetings may be hosted outside of school hours (e.g. before/after school). All meetings shall occur on FPHS property and will follow FPHS guidelines concerning club meetings.
